§ 16.13. Constables:

Latest version.

The City Administrator shall appoint one or more police officers of the city as constables. Such constables shall have like powers and authorities in matters of civil and criminal nature, and in relation to the service of process, civil and criminal, as are conferred by law on constables in townships. They shall have power also to serve all process issued for breaches of ordinances of the city. The bond of the constables shall be that required of constables in townships. The statutory fees received by such constables shall be paid into the city treasury in accordance with Section 5.14.
